Armored gonyaulacoid type cell with asymmetrical plate pattern with an APC that typically lacks the canal plate of the peridinioids. Plate tabulation is usually 3 or 4', variable anterior intercalary tabulation, 5-7'' but typically 6'', 5 or 6c but typically 6c, 5 or 6''' but typically 6''', and 1-3'''' but typically 2'''', 0 or 1p, but typically 0p. The 1' is usually asymmetric.
